Burntime came out in 1993 for the Amiga, developed by Max Design. It was one of those turn based strategy games that felt different from a lot of what was around at the time, set in a dry, resource starved world after a major disaster. You don't see many games tackle survival in that specific, methodical way.

You control a group of survivors, moving them across a large, hazardous map screen by screen. Your main goal is to keep everyone alive by managing water and food, while also exploring ruins and dealing with other hostile groups you meet. The game uses a turn based system for movement and combat, and resources are extremely scarce, which makes every decision carry weight. It moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes from the constant pressure of dwindling supplies. Playing it feels like a tense, calculated struggle against a world that has nothing left to give.
