1988 Amiga action game with three gameplay modes: horizontal shooter, first-person 3D action, and flying platformer. Features multiple weapons, power-ups, enemies, and a shape-shifting mechanic to eagle form. Progress unlocks additional lives via completion codes.
So Savage_Disk1 on the Amiga is this weird, kinda janky but oddly charming mashup of three totally different games in one. You play as Savage, this beefy warrior who busts out of prison only to realize his girlfriend got kidnapped—classic setup, right?
First part’s a side-scrolling shooter where you’re lobbing shots at enemies, trying to angle them just right to hit stuff. The weapons they drop are a lifesaver, because the default one feels like throwing wet paper towels. Then it suddenly shifts to this Space Harrier-style 3D section where you’re dodging monoliths and blasting floating skulls—super disorienting at first, but weirdly fun once you get the hang of it. And just when you think you’ve figured it out, boom, you’re an eagle flying through obstacle courses, popping bubbles for power-ups like some bizarre arcade fever dream.
Oh, and the game’s sneaky about it—you gotta finish each part to unlock codes for extra lives in the next one. No hand-holding here. It’s rough around the edges, but there’s something about the sheer audacity of cramming three games into one that makes it hard to put down.
