1943kai is one of those old-school arcade shooters that still holds up surprisingly well. You're piloting a WWII fighter plane, dodging bullets while taking down enemy squadrons—it's chaotic in the best way. The first few minutes feel manageable, but then the screen fills with planes, and suddenly you're weaving through bullet hell like some kind of aerial acrobat.
What I love is how tight the controls are—your plane responds instantly, which you'll need when those massive battleships start filling the screen with fire. The bosses are no joke either; one wrong move and you're back to the start. It's got that classic "just one more try" pull, even when you know you're about to get wrecked again.
