Game Overview

Fantasy '95 is one of those weird, forgotten arcade gems from the mid-90s that somehow got lost in time. You start off choosing between a wizard, a knight, or this weird half-dragon thing—I always go for the dragon because its fire breath melts enemies in the most satisfying way.

The first level throws you right into a neon-tinted forest crawling with goblins, and the controls feel surprisingly tight for a 90s arcade game. There's something about the way your character dashes and slashes that just clicks. The music's this synth-heavy fantasy soundtrack that somehow works perfectly with the pixelated chaos.

It's got that classic quarter-muncher difficulty too—you'll die a lot at first until you learn enemy patterns. But when you finally beat that stupid minotaur boss after six tries, it feels amazing. Definitely worth digging up if you miss when arcade games were colorful, hard, and a little janky in the best way.
