Final Fantasy Legend EasyType came out on the Game Boy in 1990, developed by Square. You control a party of four adventurers, choosing from humans, mutants, and monsters, and guide them up a massive tower that reaches into the heavens. Monsters can be defeated to collect their meat; if a character eats it, they might permanently transform into that monster species. The EasyType adjustments smoothed out some of the original's punishing difficulty, making the journey less about grinding and more about managing your party's unpredictable evolution. It feels like conducting a strange, volatile experiment where every battle could fundamentally change your team.
