Game Overview

Minnesota Fats: Pool Legend is one of those old-school Sega Genesis pool games that actually gets the feel right. You start off in smoky pool halls, working your way up through different opponents—some cocky, some way too confident—until you finally get a shot at Minnesota Fats himself. The story mode’s got this grimy charm to it, like you’re hustling your way through the underground scene.

There’s a solid mix of game types—Eight-Ball, Nine-Ball, even weird ones like Cut Throat—so you can switch it up when straight pool gets old. Trick shots are a fun distraction, though some of them feel impossible until you figure out the exact angle. And if you’ve got a buddy around, the two-player mode turns into a proper trash-talking session real quick.

It’s not flashy, but the physics hold up, and there’s something satisfying about sinking that last ball just right. Definitely one of the better pool sims from the Genesis era.
