Play Lunar Pool Online
NES pool game with 32 wild table designs—shoot balls around star shapes, zig-zags, and other spacey layouts. Two-player mode gets brutal fast.

Lunar Pool came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, developed by Compile. It was a different kind of game for the system, a pocket billiards title that leaned into a space theme instead of trying to be a straight simulation. In an era dominated by platformers and action adventures, it offered a quieter, more methodical kind of challenge.
You control the cue stick, aiming and setting power to pocket all of your colored balls before your opponent, either the computer or another player, can do the same. The main objective is to clear your set of balls from dozens of uniquely shaped tables; these aren't standard rectangles but wild, geometric obstacles like stars, zig-zags, and pinwheels that drastically alter how the balls carom. The physics are simple but unforgiving, and a single missed shot can easily hand the game to your rival. It feels like a tense, strategic puzzle where every shot needs to be calculated.
