Super Contra came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, developed and published by Konami. You control a soldier, either Bill or Lance, moving through side-scrolling and pseudo-3D stages to stop an alien invasion. Your main goal is to survive each area, shooting everything that moves while grabbing better weapons like the Spread Shot or Laser. The game is known for its fast pace and high difficulty, demanding quick reflexes and smart use of limited continues. It feels tense and immediate, a constant test of your ability to react under pressure.
