Marble Madness is the kind of game that looks simple until you actually try it—tilt the maze just right to roll your marble through these weird, winding courses without falling off. Sounds easy, but the clock’s always ticking, and some of those later levels get downright cruel. You’ll restart way more than you’d like to admit.

Then there’s Klax, which is basically Tetris’ slightly unhinged cousin. Tiles slide down a ramp, and you’ve gotta catch and stack them to make rows, columns, or diagonals of the same color. Starts chill, but before long, you’re sweating as the tiles pile up faster than you can deal with them.
