You control Spider-Man through a series of linear levels, punching and webbing up thugs while navigating environmental hazards. The main objective is to defeat villains like Doc Ock and Shocker across New York City locales. Signature mechanics include wall crawling to access hidden areas and using your web to swing across gaps or disarm enemies. The pacing is brisk, though some sections feel repetitive, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly. It feels satisfying to land a full combo on an enemy and zip through the city, even with the occasional awkward camera angle or cramped level design.
