Abandoned Places 2_Disk3 is one of those classic Amiga dungeon crawlers that doesn’t hold your hand—you’re thrown straight into assembling a party of four to take on Pendugmalhe and save Kalynthia. It’s got that Dungeon Master vibe, but with these weirdly satisfying open-air sections where you’re suddenly fighting bears instead of skeletons.
The combat’s all real-time, so you’re frantically clicking spells and weapons while trying not to get overwhelmed. The mouse controls work surprisingly well once you get used to them. Villages pop up now and then for supplies and hints, though half the time I was just relieved to see daylight after hours in dungeons.
Fair warning: this isn’t for beginners. If you’ve got a party carried over from the first game, you’ll have a much better shot. Otherwise, expect some brutal early fights until you figure out the rhythm. The mix of strategy and panic makes it weirdly addictive, though.
