Addams Family Values came out on the Sega Genesis in 1995, developed by Ocean Software. It was one of those licensed platformers that felt pretty common for the era, trying to capture the weird charm of the movies. You don't play as Gomez or Morticia, but as Uncle Fester, which was a fun and slightly odd choice.
You guide Fester through side-scrolling levels set in the family mansion and its spooky grounds, hitting enemies with whatever object he's picked up, like a mallet or a plunger. The main goal is to rescue Baby Pubert from the villainous Debbie, which involves exploring each stage, finding keys to unlock doors, and collecting power-ups to improve your attacks. The pacing is fairly straightforward, though some enemy placements can feel cheap, leading to a few frustrating moments. It feels like a solid, if unspectacular, effort to turn the films into a playable experience.
