Advance Rally is one of those GBA racers that just feels right in your hands—like someone shrunk down an arcade cabinet and stuffed it into a cartridge. The tracks are messy in the best way: mud sprays everywhere when you skid, water splashes up over your windshield, and sometimes you’ll barely squeeze past a boulder just to spin out on the next turn.
It’s not trying to be fancy, but that’s why it works. The cars handle like they’ve got actual weight to them (unlike some racers where everything feels floaty), and the AI drivers actually put up a fight—no free wins here. My first race ended with me slamming into a tree while the guy in second place zoomed past laughing, probably.
