You start as this little owl—apparently a magician’s apprentice got turned into one—and suddenly you’re dodging giant mosquitoes and ants while flying through these lush, scrolling levels. The backgrounds are surprisingly chill for a shoot 'em up, with these soft parallax layers that make it feel like you’re gliding through a weird fantasy world instead of just blasting everything in sight.
It’s not as frantic as some other Amiga shooters, which is kinda nice. You’ve got time to actually look at the scenery between waves of piranhas (yes, flying piranhas). Grabbing power-ups gives you brief moments of invincibility or better weapons, and the music shifts between the title screen and gameplay, which was a nice touch back then. Six levels might not sound like much, but they’re long enough that you’ll probably crash into something before reaching the end on your first try.
Definitely one of those games where the vibe sticks with you more than the difficulty.
