Guide Fievel through levels, jump over obstacles, collect gold, and outsmart foes in a quest to find treasure in the Wild West.
An American Tail: Fievel's Gold Rush came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2003, developed by Saffire and published by Conspiracy Entertainment. It was part of that wave of licensed platformers that filled the GBA library, often aimed at younger players but offering a decent challenge for the time. The game follows Fievel Mousekewitz as he ventures into the Wild West, a setting that gives the levels a distinct look compared to other games in the series.
You control Fievel through side scrolling stages, jumping across platforms, avoiding enemies like snakes and rats, and collecting gold coins and other items. The main goal is to progress through each level, find keys to unlock doors, and ultimately reach the end to advance the story. Signature mechanics include using a slingshot to hit switches or stun enemies from a distance, and riding mine carts in sections that require quick reflexes. The pacing is generally brisk, though some later stages can feel tricky due to enemy placement and platforming demands. It feels like a straightforward, cheerful adventure that captures the spirit of the source material without overcomplicating things.
