Game Overview

Angelic Layer on the GBA is one of those weird little games that shouldn’t work but totally does. You get these customizable fighting dolls—Angels—and pit them against each other in these quick, almost chess-like battles. At first, it seems simple: pick moves, watch them clash. But then you realize positioning matters, certain combos chain together, and suddenly you’re obsessing over stat tweaks at 2 AM.

The anime’s charm is all over it—the Angels have these ridiculous over-the-top attack animations, and half the fun is seeing what absurd move your doll pulls off next. No English release means you’ll be squinting at fan translations or just winging it, but honestly? The menus are intuitive enough that you’ll figure it out after a match or two.

If you’ve got a soft spot for forgotten GBA oddities or just want something that mixes strategy with doll-sized chaos, this one’s worth digging up.
