Asterix and the Power of the Gods came out for the Sega Genesis in 1995, developed by Core Design. It was part of that wave of licensed games trying to capture the spirit of a franchise, in this case the beloved French comics, on a console known for action and platformers.

You control either Asterix or Obelix, each with their own style of combat, as you move through isometric levels punching Romans, breaking barrels, and hunting for keys to unlock new areas. The game involves a lot of exploration, screen by screen, with some light puzzle solving and occasional boss fights. It can feel a bit clunky at times, with the perspective causing some awkward jumps or hits, and the difficulty spikes in certain sections. Still, there's a simple charm in wading through crowds of legionaries, collecting power-ups, and seeing the comic book visuals come to life on screen.
