Play Backyard Hockey Online
Tiny NHL stars and neighborhood kids whack a puck around driveways—simple controls at first, but dig deeper and you’ll tweak penalties, period length, even a random Rock, Paper, Scissors showdown mid-game.

Game Overview
Backyard Hockey on the GBA is exactly what it sounds like—a goofy, low-stakes hockey game where kids and pint-sized NHL pros slap the puck around in driveways and back alleys. The controls are simple enough that you’ll be pulling off slap shots within seconds, but there’s a surprising amount of depth if you dig into the settings.
You’ve got all 30 NHL teams (with their star players shrunk down to kid size, which never stops being funny), plus air hockey if you want a break from the ice. What I didn’t expect was how much you can tweak—period length, penalties, even a weird Rock, Paper, Scissors minigame that pops up sometimes. The commentary’s cheesy in the best way, though you can turn it off if it gets old.
It’s the kind of game where you’ll lose 20 minutes just messing around with different lineups before realizing you forgot to actually play a match. The cartridge save means your season progress sticks around, and if you’ve got a link cable, you can drag a friend into the chaos. Perfect for quick sessions when you just want to knock a puck around without overthinking it.
