Play Ballistic - Ecks vs. Sever (U)(Venom) Online

You awkwardly fumble through blurry corridors, shooting at pixelated enemies while the fisheye lens makes everything look like a funhouse mirror. It's the kind of game you play just to say you survived it.

Game Overview

Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Atari. It was part of that wave of licensed games trying to squeeze movie-style action onto a handheld screen, and it definitely had the look and feel of its time. You could tell they were aiming for something cinematic, but the hardware pushed back in interesting ways.

You control either Agent Ecks or Sever, moving through levels that scroll screen by screen. Your main goal is to shoot your way past guards and automated defenses, occasionally solving simple environmental puzzles to progress. The game uses a fixed perspective that can make judging distances tricky, especially when enemies fire from off screen. You collect keycards, avoid traps, and manage your limited ammo carefully. It moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty comes more from awkward angles than complex enemy behavior. Playing it feels like working through a clunky but earnest attempt to bring a shooter to the small screen.
