Game Overview
Barbarian II – The Dungeon of Drax is one of those classic Amiga games that somehow manages to be both ridiculous and weirdly satisfying. You play as a muscle-bound warrior (or a scantily clad warrior princess, if you prefer) swinging swords, dodging traps, and occasionally kicking enemies into spiked pits. The animations are hilariously over-the-top—decapitations send heads flying with way more enthusiasm than necessary.
The dungeon itself is full of instant-death traps, which mostly just made me laugh when I died for the fifth time stepping on the same hidden spike. Combat’s clunky by modern standards, but there’s something weirdly fun about the way your character lumbers around like they’ve had one too many mead flagons. And yes, the sequel still has that infamous "kick your opponent’s head like a football" finisher.
If you’re into old-school, janky-but-charming swordplay, this one’s a time capsule worth revisiting.
