Okay, so Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper on GBA is way more fun than I expected. You switch between Princess Anneliese and Erika, the pauper who looks just like her—basically, it’s a whole mistaken identity thing, but with way more sparkles. The villain’s got this ridiculous mustache, and honestly? I’m here for it.
Gameplay’s simple—light puzzles, some sneaking around, and a few mini-games that feel like they’re straight out of the movie. No, you don’t actually sing (it’s a GBA, come on), but there’s music, and the sprite work is surprisingly cute for a Barbie game. My only gripe? The dialogue can drag if you’re not into the story, but if you grew up with the film, it’s pure nostalgia fuel.
Definitely one of the better Barbie games out there—just don’t go in expecting deep RPG mechanics, and you’ll have a good time.
