Barnyard for the Game Boy Advance came out in 2006, published by THQ. It was one of those licensed games that showed up a lot on the system, based on the animated movie from that same year. You play as Otis, the carefree cow, and the whole thing is set in a free-roaming farm environment.
You control Otis as he wanders the farm, talking to other animals and taking on tasks like herding chicks or finding lost items. The main goal is to protect the farm from nightly raccoon raids, which you do by shooting them with milk from your udders. Between defending the barn and completing chores, you earn money to buy decorations and throw parties. The pacing is fairly relaxed, with simple combat and exploration that doesn't demand too much. It feels like a light, silly distraction, something to pick up when you just want to mess around on a farm without any pressure.
