Batman: Vengeance came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Ubisoft Montreal. It was part of that wave of licensed games trying to capture the feel of a show, in this case the animated series, on a handheld that was still finding its footing with action titles. You got a side-scrolling Batman adventure that didn't try to be the biggest thing on the system, just a solid attempt to bring the character to life in your hands.

You control Batman through a series of levels, moving screen by screen to beat up thugs, avoid traps, and occasionally pilot the Batmobile in short driving sections. Your main goal is to stop the Joker's latest scheme, which involves a lot of punching, throwing Batarangs, and using your grapple to reach higher platforms. The combat is straightforward but responsive, and the platforming can be tricky, demanding careful timing to avoid spikes or falling into pits. It feels like a condensed version of the console experience, a little rough in spots but satisfying when you clear a tough room or land a perfect throw.
