Okay, so Battletoads in Ragnarok’s World is basically what happens when you take the already ridiculous Battletoads formula and throw it into a Norse mythology blender. You’ve got the same combo-heavy brawling, the same "why is this jump so impossible?" platforming, and those gloriously dumb morphing attacks—like turning your arm into an anvil mid-punch. Classic Battletoads nonsense, but now with more Viking helmets.
It’s tough as nails, obviously (it wouldn’t be Battletoads otherwise), but there’s something weirdly satisfying about finally nailing that one section after your 20th try. The Game Boy’s tiny screen somehow makes everything feel even more chaotic, like the developers went, "You thought the NES version was hard? Hold our soda."
If you’ve got a soft spot for ’90s platformers that hate you just a little, this one’s a weird little gem. Just maybe stretch your thumbs first.
