Game Overview
Pokémon Red is the one that started it all—boot it up on that chunky gray Game Boy, and suddenly you're ten years old again, squinting at the screen while your mom yells at you to stop playing in the car. You pick your starter (Charmander, obviously, unless you're some kind of Squirtle apologist), and then it's just you, your rival, and a world of weird little creatures to catch.
The battles are simple but weirdly tense—nothing like watching your Pikachu barely survive a hit with 2 HP left. And that moment when you finally evolve something? Pure dopamine. Yeah, the graphics are basically greenish blobs now, but there's something about the way the music kicks in during a gym battle that still hits just right. Just don't forget to save before fighting Misty. Trust me.
