The battles are simple turn-based affairs, but there's something satisfying about watching your team slowly evolve from scrappy underdogs to a well-oiled machine.

It's rough around the edges—some moves barely work, the AI isn't always sharp, and grinding can drag—but none of that really matters when you're deep in Viridian Forest or facing down your rival for the last time. Pokemon Red and Blue is still a journey worth taking.
