Game Overview

Pokemon Red and Blue still feels like the start of something special, even years later. You wake up in Pallet Town with nothing but a dream and one of three starter Pokemon, and from there it's just you and the road ahead. The world isn't huge by today's standards, but back then, every route and cave felt like uncharted territory.

I remember getting stuck in Mt. Moon for what felt like hours, running low on potions, and then finally stumbling on a Clefairy. That mix of tension and discovery is what makes it work. The battles are simple turn-based affairs, but there's something satisfying about watching your team slowly evolve from scrappy underdogs to a well-oiled machine.

It's rough around the edges—some moves barely work, the AI isn't always sharp, and grinding can drag—but none of that really matters when you're deep in Viridian Forest or facing down your rival for the last time. Pokemon Red and Blue is still a journey worth taking.
