Pokemon Red and Blue came out for the Game Boy in 1996, developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo. You capture them using Poke Balls, then level them up through turn based battles against other trainers. The pacing is methodical, with some grinding required to keep your team strong. It feels like building a real connection with your team as you travel across the region.
