Play Pokemon II Online
Blocky Genesis sprites and weirdly tough battles—half the moves don’t work right, and some trainers show up with overpowered teams out of nowhere. Feels like a bootleg Pokémon game that got lost in the '90s and somehow still works.

Pokemon II is an unofficial, fan-made game for the Sega Genesis, developed and released unofficially by hobbyists rather than a commercial publisher. It exists as a curious piece of homebrew from an era when the hardware was long out of production, a project born from sheer fandom rather than corporate strategy.
You control a trainer navigating a world of tiled environments, engaging in random turn-based battles against wild creatures and other trainers. The main goal is to collect eight badges and challenge the Elite Four, though the journey is hampered by frequent, difficult encounters and a number of glitchy moves that fail or behave unexpectedly. Progress is slow and often frustrating, with some areas feeling unbalanced and requiring considerable grinding. It feels like playing a rough, unfinished prototype that somehow made it onto a cartridge.
