Beast Warriors came out for the Sega Genesis, though I don't recall who made it. It was one of those side-scrolling brawlers that felt right at home on the system, a familiar type of game for anyone who spent time with the console in the early '90s.
You pick a mutant animal fighter, like a werewolf or a rhino, and move from left to right beating up waves of enemies. The main goal is just to get to the end of each stage and survive. You have a basic attack combo and a screen-clearing special move that drains your health a little, which makes you think twice before using it. The game is pretty tough; enemies gang up on you, and the boss fights require good timing. It feels chaotic and a little messy, but landing a big special and watching the whole screen shake is satisfying.
