Download Behind The Iron Gate_Disk1 ROM – Amiga Game
1995 Amiga FPS with mission-based prison escape. Collect keys, unlock gates, trigger self-destruct, and flee. Weapons include rockets and stun bolters. Four control schemes. Wolfenstein 3D-style movement.
Behind the Iron Gate is one of those early '90s Amiga shooters that feels like a stripped-down, claustrophobic cousin of DOOM. You wake up in a prison—gray walls, flickering lights, the whole deal—and your only goal is to get out alive. Most of the time, that means hunting down keys to open doors, which sounds simple until you realize half the corridors are crawling with guards who really don’t want you leaving.
The weapons are satisfyingly chunky—rockets, stun guns, the usual suspects—and the controls are surprisingly smooth for the era. It’s got that Wolfenstein 3D vibe where everything’s blocky and a little repetitive, but the speed makes up for it. The music? Pure tension, just a steady pulse to remind you the clock’s ticking before the whole place blows. Not deep, but it nails the panic of a prison break.
Oh, and you get four control schemes to pick from, which was basically luxury back then.
