Play Black Belt Challenge Online
Fight through stages as a martial artist, using punches, kicks, and combos to take down enemies and bosses in this side-scrolling action game.
Black Belt Challenge came out on Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Digital Eclipse. It was one of those side-scrolling action games that felt right at home on the handheld, offering straightforward martial arts action during a time when portable gaming was really hitting its stride.
You control a martial artist moving through a series of stages, fighting various opponents using punches, kicks, and special moves. The main goal is to defeat all enemies in each area and progress to the next stage, often facing a boss at the end. Key mechanics include executing combos by timing button presses, blocking and countering attacks, and sometimes using environmental objects during fights. The pacing is fairly quick, and the difficulty can spike unexpectedly, especially during boss encounters. It feels satisfying to land a full combo and watch an opponent stagger back before finishing them off.
