Play Blaster Master Jr. (Europe) Online
You switch between a clunky tank and a tiny dude blasting mutants in cramped caves—upgrading your ride feels awesome, even when the screen’s too small for the chaos.

Blaster Master Jr. came out for the Game Boy in 1991, developed by Sunsoft. It was part of that wave of late 80s, early 90s action games that tried to squeeze big console ideas onto the small screen. You got a lot of game in that little cartridge, even if it meant some compromises for the hardware.
You control Jason, who pilots a vehicle called the SOPHIA III through side scrolling environments, and often has to get out on foot to explore tight interior areas. The main goal is to explore a large underground world, defeat mutants, and find upgrades for your tank, like better weapons and improved mobility. The gameplay shifts between driving and shooting in the vehicle and navigating smaller spaces with a limited jump and a basic blaster. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can spike in certain sections, especially when dealing with limited visibility and respawning enemies. It feels like a condensed, portable version of a much larger adventure, demanding patience and careful exploration.
