Play Bloodshot Online
You blast through cyberpunk hell as a half-machine killing machine, shredding mutants with a shotgun that kicks like a truck while the screen shakes from all the explosions. Pure Genesis chaos with a killer soundtrack.
Bloodshot came out on the Sega Genesis in 1994, published by Domark. It was part of that wave of action games that really pushed the hardware, with big sprites and a gritty, industrial look that felt right at home on the system. You could tell developers were getting comfortable with what the Genesis could do, aiming for a more intense, visceral experience.
You control a heavily armored cyborg soldier, moving screen by screen through hostile industrial complexes. Your main goal is to rescue hostages from a terrorist group, which involves a lot of straightforward shooting and exploration. The signature mechanics include a lock-on targeting system for precise shots and the ability to pick up and use a variety of secondary weapons, like grenades and homing missiles. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty is pretty unforgiving, with enemies swarming in from all sides. It feels like a relentless, noisy firefight from start to finish.
