Boomer's Adventure is one of those Game Boy games that somehow flew under the radar, which is a shame because it's weirdly addictive. You're this little bomb guy—Boomer, obviously—running around maze-like levels, planting explosives to clear rubble, take out enemies, and sometimes just to see what happens when you blow up a suspicious-looking wall.
At first, it feels like Bomberman, but then you realize there's more going on. Some bombs bounce, some explode on impact, and half the time you're accidentally trapping yourself in a corner because you misjudged the blast radius. The pixel art has that chunky, colorful Game Boy charm, and the music sticks in your head way longer than it should.
It's not just mindless blowing stuff up, either. Later levels get sneaky with switches, hidden passages, and enemies that dodge your bombs unless you time it just right. I got stuck on one puzzle for ages until I realized I could ricochet a bomb off a wall to hit a switch. Felt like a genius for about three seconds before the next room wrecked me.
