Boulder Dash EX came out on the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Crawfish Interactive. It was a solid puzzle game for a system that had a lot of them, a nice portable version of a classic concept that fit right in your pocket.
You control Rockford, a little guy who has to dig through dirt to collect a set number of gems on each screen. The main mechanics involve pushing boulders onto enemies to crush them and being careful not to dig in a way that causes a loose boulder to fall on your head. The pacing is methodical; you have to plan your route because one wrong move can collapse a tunnel or trap you. It feels satisfying to finally clear a tricky stage after figuring out the right sequence of pushes and digs.
