Boulder Dash EX takes the classic digging-and-dodging formula and gives it a fresh coat of paint for the GBA. You're still that little guy tunneling through dirt, pushing boulders around, and trying not to get crushed—but now there's a new protagonist and six whole worlds of puzzles to chew through. The gems are your ticket out, but half the fun is figuring out how to manipulate the environment without trapping yourself.
What surprised me was how well the original PC version holds up—it's tucked in here as a bonus, and the contrast between old and new is weirdly charming. And if you've got friends around, the four-player mode turns into absolute chaos with everyone dropping boulders on each other like a very polite demolition derby.
It's one of those games where you'll fail a level three times, then suddenly the solution clicks and you feel like a genius.
