Boxing Fever came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2001, developed by Digital Fiction. It was part of that early wave of GBA sports games, trying to capture some of the arcade boxing energy on a handheld. The graphics were colorful and a bit chunky, fitting right in with what the system could do at the time.
You control a rising boxer, working through a career mode full of exaggerated opponents. The main goal is to win matches by knocking out your rivals, each with their own wild fighting style. Key mechanics include dodging punches with quick directional taps, building up a super meter for powerful special moves, and learning each opponent's patterns to time counterattacks. The pacing is fast; matches don't drag, but the difficulty can spike unexpectedly against later fighters. It feels chaotic and silly in a way that keeps you coming back for one more round.
