Play Chameleon Kid (Japan) Online
Your little chameleon morphs constantly—jetpack, frog legs, even a wrecking ball tail—while you scramble through sprawling, mean-spirited levels that force you to adapt or die. It’s janky, chaotic, and totally unpredictable in the best way.

Game Overview
Chameleon Kid is one of those weird, colorful Genesis platformers that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this cool gimmick where grabbing power-ups completely changes how your little lizard dude plays. One second you’re hopping around with stubby legs, then bam—you snag a jetpack and suddenly you’re awkwardly hovering over spikes. The levels are massive, too, with some seriously mean enemy placements that’ll have you switching forms just to survive.
It’s janky in that classic early-90s way (good luck controlling the swimming sections), but there’s something charming about how over-the-top the transformations get. By the end, you’re basically a different character every 30 seconds. If you’re into obscure platformers with weird mechanics, this one’s worth digging up.
