You control one of six mercenaries, each with unique weapons and stats, and either go solo or team up with a friend. Your goal is to hunt down the creator of the Chaos Engine by fighting through four worlds of Victorian-era machinery and grotesque mutants. The game progresses screen by screen, requiring you to clear enemies and find keys to advance, all while collecting diamonds to upgrade your firepower and abilities. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty is punishing; one wrong move can drain your health fast. It feels tense and strategic, demanding careful movement and smart resource management just to survive another screen.
