Chase H.Q. II came out for the Sega Genesis in 1992, developed and published by Taito. It was part of that wave of arcade-style racers that tried to bring a bit of the cabinet experience home, sitting alongside other high-speed pursuits on the system.
You control an undercover police driver, working through a series of missions to intercept and stop criminal vehicles before they escape. The game uses a behind-the-car perspective; you weave through traffic, avoid obstacles, and sometimes take fire from your targets. A turbo boost gives you short bursts of speed, crucial for closing gaps or making tight passes. The action is fast and demanding, with little room for error in the later stages. It feels tense and immediate, especially when you're inches from a crash with time about to run out.
