Okay, so Cinderella: Magical Dreams on the GBA is way more fun than I expected. It starts with that classic "once upon a time" setup, but then you're suddenly dodging rolling pumpkins in the kitchen and jumping over mice-turned-horses—it's got this weird, playful energy that keeps the fairy tale fresh.
The pixel art is surprisingly lush for a handheld game—Cinderella’s ballgown actually sparkles when she spins, and the stepmother’s scowling face is hilariously exaggerated. You’ll do little things like arrange flowers for the prince’s castle or time your jumps to avoid Lucifer the cat (who’s somehow even more of a jerk here).
It’s not super hard, but there’s something satisfying about the way it remixes the story into bite-sized challenges. If you ever played those old Disney platformers like Magical Quest, it’s got that same vibe—just with more glitter and fewer evil wizards. Perfect for when you want something cheerful to kill 20 minutes.
