Crash Bandicoot XS came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, developed by Vicarious Visions. It was part of that wave of console-to-handheld ports that tried to capture a bigger experience on a small screen. You got a pocket-sized version of Crash's world, which felt pretty ambitious for the hardware at the time.
You control Crash, running, spinning, and jumping through linear levels split into distinct screens. The main goal is to reach the end of each stage, smashing crates and collecting Wumpa fruit along the way. Signature moves include the spin attack to take out enemies and a body slam to break certain crates. The game moves quickly, and some sections demand precise timing, especially with bottomless pits and bouncing nitro explosives. It feels fast and compact, like a condensed dose of platforming action.
