Cyberzerk is one of those classic Amiga shooters where you're dumped onto a massive spaceship with one job: clear every room of its robotic inhabitants. You start with a basic blaster and a handful of grenades—just enough to make you think twice before wasting them on the wrong hallway.
The ship’s laid out in these bite-sized, non-scrolling rooms, and enemies mostly follow set patrol routes instead of chasing you down. At first, that seems forgiving… until you realize the clock’s ticking, and missing just one drone hidden in a corner means replaying the whole level. Getting hit chips away at your energy bar, but sometimes enemies drop health pickups—tiny mercies in an otherwise brutal cleanup job.
There’s a weird tension between methodical play and speedrunning panic. The one-use map helps, but good luck memorizing the maze-like decks before your grenades run out. Oh, and if you bring a friend for co-op? Watch your fire—nothing’s worse than accidentally blasting your teammate because they stepped into your line of sight.
It’s straightforward, punishing, and weirdly satisfying when you finally clear a level by the skin of your teeth.
