Game Overview
Daedalian Opus is one of those weird little Game Boy puzzle games that somehow sticks with you. You’re this floating… thing (Daedaleanopus, I guess?), dropping oddly shaped blocks into a grid to fill it perfectly. It’s like Tetris if Tetris made you sweat over every single gap—mess up one piece, and suddenly nothing fits.
The timer adds just enough pressure to keep you from overthinking, but not so much that it feels unfair. And thank goodness for the password system—some of these puzzles take a few tries, and it’s nice not to lose progress when you inevitably misplace a piece. The later stages get seriously devious, though. I still remember that one L-shaped block that ruined my afternoon.
It’s simple, satisfying, and just the right kind of frustrating.
