Dangerous Seed is one of those classic Sega Genesis shooters that somehow flew under the radar back in the day. You're piloting the Moon Diver, this three-part ship that feels like someone took a regular fighter and decided to make it modular—each section (Alpha, Beta, Gamma) behaves differently when you mix and match them. At first, I kept crashing because I didn’t realize how much the combinations changed your firing patterns, but once it clicks, you start pulling off some wild bullet spreads.
The stages throw everything at you—alien swarms, screen-filling bosses, the usual shooter chaos—but what stands out is how the ship customization keeps things interesting. One setup might give you a wide spread shot for crowd control, while another focuses all firepower forward for boss melting. And yeah, there are bombs, because of course there are bombs. It’s tough as nails in that late-'80s arcade way, but the sheer variety in weapon setups makes retrying stages less frustrating than it could be.
