Game Overview

Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 (Rocket) (E) is one of those GBA games that feels like a stripped-down Tony Hawk but with bikes. The isometric view takes some getting used to, and the controls are a bit stiff at first, but once you get the hang of combos, it clicks.

Proquest mode throws you into small, dense levels packed with ramps and rails. You’ll spend the first hour grinding, bailing, and slowly figuring out how to chain tricks together without faceplanting. The signature moves look cool when you finally pull them off, but filling the rush meter takes patience.

It’s not perfect—some of the later challenges feel unfairly tight on time, and the two-player modes are just passable. Still, if you’re into BMX games, it’s a decent way to kill time on the GBA.
