Play DecapAttack Online
Explore levels as a mummy, punch enemies, break blocks, drink potions, and battle bosses to reclaim your stolen head in DecapAttack on Sega Genesis.
DecapAttack came out on the Sega Genesis in 1991, developed and published by Vic Tokai. It was part of that early 90s wave of platformers that weren't afraid to be a little strange, fitting right in with the console's growing library of offbeat action games.
You control a mummy whose head has been stolen, so you explore screen by screen, punching enemies and breaking blocks to find keys and potions. The main goal is to recover your missing head from each stage's boss. Two mechanics define the experience: drinking colored potions that have random, often harmful effects, and a life system where you collect extra body parts to extend your health. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty is unforgiving, with many instant death traps. It feels like a tense, unpredictable scramble where every new screen demands caution.
