Deep Core_Disk1 came out in 1993 for the Amiga, published by International Computer Entertainment Ltd. It was one of those action platformers that felt right at home on the system, with detailed graphics and a sci-fi setting that fit the hardware's strengths. You control Captain Dawnrazer, fighting through a nuclear base overrun by aliens across nine levels. The goal is to clear each stage, defeat bosses, and uncover hidden areas that often hold useful power-ups. You start with a basic blaster, but can collect six different weapons, each upgradeable for more firepower. The pacing is fast, and the difficulty ramps up quickly, demanding sharp reflexes and careful exploration. It feels tense and rewarding when you finally break through a tough section with the right weapon in hand.
