Game Overview

Ever wonder what dinosaurs would be like if they had their own little civilization? Dinosaur Detective Agency runs with that idea in the goofiest way possible—you play as Sherlock Ness, a dino detective solving petty crimes in a world where T-Rexes probably file tax returns. The pixel art is charmingly retro, with each of the four cases dropping you into a different prehistoric setting.

Gameplay’s straightforward but fun: you hop on enemies or stun them with your camera flash (which, yes, feels as ridiculous as it sounds). The real challenge? Snapping a photo of the thief at the end of each level—you only get a few shots, so lining it up just right is weirdly tense. Miss, and you’re stuck replaying the whole thing. Classic Amiga jank, but in the best way.

It’s short, a bit clunky by today’s standards, but there’s something oddly satisfying about playing as a trenchcoat-wearing dinosaur who fights crime with a camera. If you dig old-school platformers with personality, this one’s a time capsule worth booting up.
