Game Overview
Disney Princess Royal Adventure on the GBA is basically a love letter to anyone who grew up humming "Part of Your World" or pretending their broom was Cinderella’s glass slipper. You jump between four princesses—Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, and Cinderella—each with their own little story chunk. Ariel’s levels have you swimming around avoiding eels and collecting trinkets, while Belle’s got this weirdly satisfying book-stacking puzzle thing going on. The pixel art’s surprisingly cute for a GBA game, especially Jasmine’s Agrabah levels with all the market stalls and flying carpets.
It’s not exactly hard (I finished Belle’s story in like 20 minutes), but there’s something cozy about how low-stakes it all is. You’ll recognize music snippets from the movies, and the "true love" power-ups are basically just sparkly excuses to make your princess temporarily invincible. Nostalgia does most of the heavy lifting here, but hey, sometimes you just want to tap A to make Snow White twirl in her dress. My niece stole my copy after playing it for five minutes, so mission accomplished, I guess.
