I picked up Dora the Explorer: Super Star Adventures for the Game Boy Advance back when it came out, a 2008 release from Black Lantern Studios and published by 2K Play. It was one of those many licensed games that filled the GBA library, aimed squarely at younger players who were fans of the show, and it fit right in with the handheld's focus on portable, accessible adventures.

You control Dora as she moves through side-scrolling levels, jumping across platforms and avoiding obstacles like rolling rocks or gaps. The main goal is to collect stars scattered through each stage while sometimes outsmarting Swiper the fox, who pops up to cause trouble. A couple of the game's mechanics involve using Dora's backpack to select helpful items for solving simple puzzles, and there's a fun part where you actually shout "Swiper, no swiping!" into the GBA's microphone to stop him in his tracks. The pacing is relaxed, with straightforward challenges that keep things moving without much frustration. It feels like a cheerful, interactive version of the TV series, made for short bursts of play.
