Play Dora the Explorer - The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure (U)(Eurasia) Online
Guide Dora through colorful levels, jump over gaps, solve puzzles, and shout "Swiper, no swiping!" to find Pirate Pig's treasure in this lighthearted adventure.
I picked up Dora the Explorer: The Search for Pirate Pig's Treasure for the Game Boy Advance back in 2002. It was published by NewKidCo, one of those companies that put out a lot of licensed games for younger players during that era. The GBA was full of platformers and adventures, and this one fit right in, offering a simple, colorful experience clearly aimed at kids rather than trying to compete with the more complex titles on the system.
You control Dora directly, moving her through a series of side scrolling levels to recover pieces of Pirate Pig's stolen treasure map. The gameplay involves basic platforming, like jumping over gaps and climbing vines, along with some light puzzle solving, such as matching colored seashells to open paths. You also have to watch out for Swiper the fox, who will try to swipe your items if you don't tap the button to shout "Swiper, no swiping!" fast enough. The pacing is relaxed, and the difficulty is gentle, making it easy for younger players to get through without too much frustration. It feels straightforward and cheerful, exactly what you'd expect from stepping into Dora's world for a short adventure.
